AppStore has a special selection of handpicked games you'll love

Do you think that you have seen all the good games in the AppStore? How about a first-class ticket to the best new ones or some old ones that did not make the headlines? The AppStore editors have got you covered.

This new selection is called "The Best Games You've never played," and the AppStore staff really pride themselves in recommending some of the best out there. There are 34 apps right now, but they promise that the collection will grow as new ones come out.

A few good ones are free and the rest won't break the bank. The most expensive game in this selection is a mere $4.99 (€3.76).

The first one in the featured selection is "Kiwanuka." Just pass beyond the strange title and discover this action-puzzle game with some very interesting mechanics designed for a touch interface. This game was released about a month and a half ago, and the ratings are overly positive. Your job as a player is to guide a small crowd, instruct them to build towers, knock over the same towers to build pathways and use them as bridges to reach an exit. You full attention is required, and timing counts as well.

We know that you may be sick and tired of the Zombie Games and Flappy bird, but you've got to try this next one out. Deadlings is a very funny combination of the two categories (if we can call Flappy Bird-like games a "Category"). You are basically guiding a dead army around a maze of spikes, saws and traps. Each of the characters has different abilities and they can complete each other to help you finish the game. Deadlings is 99 cents (€74 cents), and you can benefit from the packages offered via in-app purchase.

If you are looking for a strange, but mind-challenging game, you can try Blackbar, an app that toys with the concept of censorship, and you have to go around that to decipher the messages.

Talking about unusual games, "...and then it rained" is a strange one starting from the actual name of the app. This game can only be played with one finger and it was designed for a touchscreen, although it reminds the player of an old arcade hit. Your job is to catch colored and different sounding rain drops by dragging and reordering marching towers. This will result in a rhythmic world of sound and color.

And since you are on an iPhone or iPad, you might want to try Unpossible. This game can be played by touch, tilt or external controllers. You job is to slide along a tube and avoid obstacles, but the route is so twisted and fast that you will inevitably end up hitting a road block. When you start to believe that this game is not made to be finished, you will start to notice certain patterns that tend to repeat in the course of it and you'll probably start to enjoy it.

Try all the games in this selection. You'll be sure to find some of the best games you've never played, after all.
