This concept shows us what a round iWatch would look like

Out of all of the smartwatches released so far (excepting the Apple Watch) people seemed to be mostly drawn to the round-faced Moto 360.

That’s why it came as a surprise to some when Apple rolled out a rectangular smartwatch, ignoring the whole trend altogether. Sure, the intelligent timepiece takes advantage of a curved display, but that doesn’t change the overall geometry.

Anyway, even if the Apple Watch is barely a few days old, we’re pretty sure some of you are already wondering what if Cupertino’s first smartwatch were round?

Well, Korean fan Alcion answers your question with a suite of three images showing off a circular Apple Watch.

The results are quite nifty and I have to say the form factor suits the new UI much better than the real deal. Especially the digital crown, which is the center piece of the new OS looks particularly good to my eyes.

Anyway, all hope is not lost, because we’re surely going to see a next-gen Apple Watch arrive on the market at some point, maybe coming in with a more interesting name too.

For the time being, we still have some months to wait before this little baby arrives on the market. Expect to see it drop in retail sometime in early 2015.
