This concept garden is the brainchild of visionary designer Vincent Callebaut

Those who think that there are limits to imagination need only have a look at the picture above to at least be tempted to second-guess this assumption.

This odd installation is a concept garden created by designer Vincent Callebaut, Inhabitat informs. Should it ever be built, its sole job would be to sail the world's rivers and clean their water.

Vincent Callebaut imagines this floating garden as being whale-shaped and self-sufficient. Thus, the Physalia, as this installation is called, would be fitted with both solar panels and hydro-turbines.

The solar panels would generate power by harvesting sunlight, whereas the hydro-turbines would roll out clean energy by making the most of the water flowing underneath the garden.

Vincet Callebaut details that, in order to clean rivers, his Physalia would chiefly rely on a TiO2 (titanium dioxide) coating that, when exposed to ultraviolet rays, would remove contaminants.

Besides, water could be pumped over the garden systems that the boat would accommodate for. According to Vincent Callebaut, this would serve to biologically filter pollutants.

Although it might be a while until a whale-shaped floating garden sets sail for the first time, I for one have to admit that I very much like this concept. What do you think? Let me known in the comments section below.
