"Welcome to Macintosh" is an independent documentary highlighting Apple's history that can now be downloaded on the iTunes movie store, as well as on DVD through major media retailers. The documentary explains how Apple Inc. has changed the world featuring notable personalities such as Andy Hertzfeld, co-creator of the original Macintosh, and Guy Kawasaki, Mac evangelist.

"The goal was to make a film that you can show to anyone, even someone that has never used a computer, and have them understand why so many people love Macintosh," Rob Baca, one of the film's co-directors, says. "Thousands of DVDs have been sold and more are on order. That, along with thousands of views via the Netflix Instant Queue in the first week of release, tells us interest continues to grow."

"Make no mistake, this film is about as independent as you can get. No studio, no bankroll, just two dedicated Apple fans and their credit cards. The result has been life-changing for the both of us," Josh Rizzo, co-director of the film, adds. "We have received a lot of support from members of the Mac Community and we could not have done this without them."

Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak is also cited in the official report announcing the availability of the documentary. In spring, the entrepreneur commented that "Welcome to Macintosh" was quite "on the mark." While Woz had been involved with some other independent films, he claimed this was "by far the best one I've seen." Andy Hertzfeld, co-creator of the Mac and author of "Revolution in The Valley," chimes in saying that, "'Welcome to Macintosh' captures and exemplifies the unique spirit expressed in Apple's products."

Presented in over fifty Macintosh User Groups around the world, "Welcome to Macintosh" has also appeared at seven international film festivals, including the 10th Annual Wisconsin Film Festival.
