A woman shares private affairs with the world

An Australian woman decided to put up for auction a letter written by her ex-husband, in which he basically let her know that the two of them shared the same tastes in men. And where would she find a better auction house than on eBay? The two and their two children had been a family for over 20 years when the husband decided to unveil his secret, and let his wife know that he was… playing for the other team.

“For after marrying to you, Julie, and having what I thought was a very happy life, one say [sic] I realised that just like some people like their pizzas with pepperoni, others with bacon and others with meat, I feel attracted to men, not women.” reads an excerpt of the letter posted on the auctioning website to increase the bidders' interest. Although the woman’s gesture may seem vindictive, she claims that all she aims to achieve with this is to underscore the power of love since, even after her spouse’s confession, the two continued to be best friends and to act almost like any other family.

“The sentimental value [of the letter] is just priceless.” she says. “This is a story of love, but not just any story... it is the greatest of them all...” Her husband having passed away a while ago, the woman thought this was the right moment to share her experience with the rest of the world and, while at it, possibly make some money off it. However, despite being “priceless” from a sentimental point of view, the woman admits she does not know how much the original letter is worth, so she started the auction at 0.99 Australian dollars.

At the time of writing, eight people have already enlisted in the auction, the biggest bid reaching 10 Australian dollars (approximately $8). Other weird items that were put up for action on different bidding websites are a popcorn shaped like a poodle, a piece of ham shaped like the state Virginia, the bra of the mistress who ruined someone's marriage, and a cake bearing a striking resemblance to Barack Obama, to name just a few.
