Spread the holiday cheer by finally completing some of your games

December is here and soon the winter holidays, whether it’s Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa or anything in between, will be upon us. While I’m certainly going to spend time with family and run around through shops to get gifts for loved ones, I’m also looking forward to this holiday season because the extra free time is finally going to allow me to clear up my backlog of unfinished games.

We all remember our gaming past, when we played through games in a frenzy and then, most of the times, started from scratch again to uncover all of its secrets and mysteries. Now, however, we’re flooded with dozens of high quality titles, especially during October or November, and we can barely get to at least try them out, if not get anywhere near their finish.

Now, after great games like Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, or Need for Speed: The Run, which all appeared in close succession to one another in around four to five weeks, we’re finally entering this colder version of the traditional summer gaming drought.

While gaming companies struggled to get their products out there before the holiday season, from now, the beginning of December, until the end of January, not even one high quality, triple-A release will happen, except Star Wars: The Old Republic.

This, coupled with the free time for the actual holidays, makes it the perfect time to start delving into your backlog of unfinished games and spend some much needed time with titles that you may have overlooked, like Skyrim or Saints Row 3, in my case, while also trying out some games that I didn’t even start since buying, like Bastion.
