The dispute between hacktivists and Steubenville, Ohio, authorities is far from being over. Besides publishing a video in which Anonymous trolls Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla, hackers have also launched an attack against the law enforcement station’s official website.

A distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack against the website of the Jefferson County Sheriff was initiated on January 5. A few hours after the cyberattack started, jeffersoncountysheriff.com became inaccessible.

The initiators of the attack, apparently NaziGods, have provided their supporters with a web-based DDOS tool.

Around 50 hours have passed since the website first went down and it hasn’t been restored since.

The attack on the site comes after Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla threatened to go after Anonymous hackers.

“Now listen Anonymous, whoever is out there. You can say whatever you want to say about me, but when you start attacking children and putting their names out where everyone can see and putting out their addresses, then I'm coming after you,” he said according to WTRF.
