Actor makes light of ongoing rumors

Gerard Butler has often denied the many rumors related to his love life that are being constantly circulated in the media. For once, the so-called “womanizer” (a label Butler has also contested) is speaking out on the many women in his life: he’s in love and planning to marry co-star Jennifer Aniston, the actor reveals on Conan O’Brien, as LA Times Blogs can confirm.

And this is not where he draws the line either, since, after marrying Aniston, Gerard will also marry Cameron Diaz, and then Joan Rivers. As fans must know, humor and being able to never take insignificant things like this rumor too seriously are two of Butler’s known attributes. So, despite having already insisted that he and Aniston were nothing but close friends and, of course, two professionals working on the same project, he was forced to make light of the situation when he saw his words were falling on deaf ears.

“We’re very much in love. Especially her. We’re actually going to tie the knot next Tuesday. And then on Saturday, I’m marrying Cameron Diaz. Joan Rivers will be the next weekend.” Butler joked on Conan O’Brien. In the same interview, the actor – who is one of the few Hollywood stars with such a good reputation off screen as well – also admits to loving being considered a hottie, since it gets him the ladies. There are, of course, certain embarrassing and awkward moments, he says, like when the ladies find out he no longer has his “300” six-pack, which, understandably, made him a hit with many female admirers in the first place.

As we were also telling you a while back, as the tabloid media tries to make him a womanizer, in real life, Butler is very down to earth and private, as those who got to meet him vouch. Because of this, rumors about his personal life and his many affairs with women both famous and unknown in the media continue to amuse him, even if there are times when he finds himself very annoyed by them.

The one with Jennifer Aniston, though, will simply not go away, as Butler was also telling Us Weekly a short while back. “One day, we had dinner when we first discussed the movie, and that day she had been linked to three different people! I was already one of them. Listen, there’s nobody that’s been more subject to these rumors than her, so I think she’s just learned to... most of the time, you can blow it off.” Butler was saying.

Gerard Butler can now be seen in “The Ugly Truth,” co-starring Katherine Heigl, as he continues shooting for “The Bounty” with Jennifer Aniston.
