What would happen if the Pope elected by the Vatican didn't really feel up for the job? That's the premise of the latest Nanni Moretti film “We Have a Pope.”

Faced with the challenge of being a Pope more or less against his will, Cardinal Melville tries to make his escape from the Vatican, mingling with regular people while pretending to be an actor.

He eventually agrees to give it a try, but only after the Vatican brings in some outside help.

“Never before in the spotlight and completely caught off guard, he panics as he’s presented to the faithful in St. Peter’s Square. To prevent a worldwide crisis, the Vatican calls in an unlikely psychiatrist who is neither religious or all that committed, played by Moretti, to find out what is wrong with the new Pope and come to a solution,” reads the synopsis of the film.

“We Have a Pope” played at Cannes and the Sundance Film Festival, having been received with good reviews on both occasions.
