Star Wars is really influencing our lives even now

Controlling technology with a wave of your hand is something everyone would like to be able to do. Sadly, it's still impossible.

Well, humans don't have any technopathic powers, but that doesn't mean the world is completely lacking in hand-wave-controlled devices.

In fact, gesture control is something that many display makers and motion sensing experts have been dabbling in.

Which leads us to today's topic: an LED lamp that recognizes your gestures.

The long stop of LEDs can be individually activated depending on how much light you want, and waving the hand along the length will activate them all.

The glow is a normal, warm light, and the light won't splash everywhere, so it works well as a kitchen or hallway, maybe even a bedroom light if placed strategically.

The lamp is called AREA. No doubt because you can choose how much of its area to activate at once.
