Disney Mobile restricted its operations to Japan due to the unpopularity of its services and devices in the United States. Fortunately, the company seems to be doing well and continues to release feature-phones and smartphones aimed at different targets.

The latest device announced by company is called DM012SH and features all the feats of a device especially designed for the Japanese market.

In this regard, it is worth stressing the smartphone is delivered with one-seg mobile wallet. In addition, the phone is both dustproof and waterproof.

According to Disney, the smartphone is aimed at women and comes with a unique design inspired from the Mickey Mouse cartoons. Moreover, customers will be able to choose from 12 different battery cases that will be available at launch.

Speaking of launch, Disney states that the smartphone is expected to arrive in stores in mid-February, but it may as well be launched on any day up until April 16.

The DM012SH is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and comes with exclusive Disney content, such as wallpaper, themes and ringtones. An update to Ice Cream Sandwich is highly unlikely.

The phone measures 123 x 61 3x 10.4mm and weighs 120g (battery included). It comes with Wi-Fi and IrDA support, as well as Bluetooth and “Eco Tech” energy saving profile.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.4 GHz single-core processor, 4GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Disney Mobile’s phone features a large 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display with support for 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. On the back, the phone sports an enhanced 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash.

There’s no word on the pricing options yet, but this one most certainly will not be available outside Japan.
