NVIDIA partner Point of View and the overclocking team from TGT seem to be keen on offering extreme users only the best and fastest graphics cards, and for this reason, they've decided to push the watercooled GTX 580 “Beast” to its limits, releasing the “Beast 2” model.

Over the past few years, the popularity of watercooled systems has steadily increased, more and more enthusiasts and power users adopting them, due to the fact that they enable a higher level of performance, while in the same time maintaining heat land noise levels down.

For this reason, launching a graphics card that can be easily plugged into the water-cooling solution already installed within a high-end rig seems to be a very good idea, very well executed by the teams from POV and TGT.

As TCMagazine reports, the new card, called “Beast 2” (following the original watercooled “Beast” model) sports a GPU clock of a 873 Mhz (compared to 855 Mhz on the original “Beast” and the puny 772 Mhz on the standard cards), as well as a very high shader frequency, of up to 1746 MHz.

The card also relies on 1536MB of GDDR5 memory, running at a whopping 4104 MHz.

Naturally, the card comes packed with all the connectivity options normally found on NVIDIA's flagship model, such as dual-DVI and mini-HDMI interfaces, while also enabling SLI support, for those customers with a high-enough budget to support multiple latest-gen cards.

And since we've reached the topic of budget, it's also quite important to mention the fact that the “Beast 2” will certainly “break the piggy-bank,” given the fact that it will sell for around 800 Euro (1,102 US dollars), which is quite a huge amount of money to pay for a graphics card, for any gamer out there.
