14 DAY TRIAL // Cedar Point is now open and can be visited once more after the water ride accident on Friday, July 19.
According to WTAE, the park is open again, and it only stayed closed for Friday. The “Shoot the Rapids” ride remains on lockdown as officials investigate the cause of the incident.
As I mentioned, seven people were hurt when a boat reversed directions and capsized during the ride.
The guests were rescued as other visitors, guards and staff at the amusement park jumped in and helped free them.
"One of the cars ... came down off that hill, and people were still in it. [...] They were trapped," one witness described.
All the visitors aboard the vessel were injured, with one suffering more serious wounds and being treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
