One of the most anticipated and potentially offensive / controversial movies to open this spring is “The Dictator,” the latest project from British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. You can see the official opening scene above.

We say “controversial”, because everything Cohen does seems to get spirits inflamed.

His latest role, which sees him become General Aladeen from the Great Republic of Wadiya, will probably be no different.

The opening scene will be a faux news report documenting Aladeen's life and, while it includes a bunch of pretty silly jokes (he was born with a huge beard and an even bigger bush), it also takes on more disturbing aspects (his mother's death, influencing culture).

“The Dictator” is directed by Larry Charles, who also helmed “Borat,” and features appearances from John C. Reilly, Ben Kingsley, Anna Faris, B.J. Novak, Aasif Mandvi, and Jason Mantzouakas.

It opens in theaters on May 16.
