14 DAY TRIAL // One of the most hyped videos aired during the Super Bowl this year was not, as one might expect, a movie trailer, but a preview for NBC's upcoming series “Awake.” Above is an extended, 7-minute preview.
“Awake” tells the story of a man leading a double life, one real and the other one a dream. Or so it would seem.
Detective Michael Britten is involved in a serious car crash with his wife and son. When he wakes up, his son has died and he goes on with his life with his wife.
When he wakes up the next day, it's his wife who's dead, while his son is still alive. He believes both realities are real, but that can't obviously be.
To get people to tune in on March 1, when the series premiere airs, NBC has released the first 7 minutes of said episode.
You can see them above. This might seem like a difficult narrative to tackle but, by the looks of the extended preview, “Awake” does a pretty neat job with it.
