This might come as a bit of a shock, but it turns out that water intoxication is a real thing, and can affect people who drink a tad too much water than their body needs and/or can process in a given time frame.

The video above was posted online by the folks at AsapSCIENCE just yesterday, and details what can happen to the human body when one chances to gulp down one too many sips of water.

As detailed in the video, too much water triggers the cells inside your average Joe and Jane's body to swell. This is especially dangerous when the cells that make up the brain are the ones affected.

Thus, water intoxication can cause symptoms such as headaches, confusion and seizures. In some extreme cases, it can even lead to death.

The good news is that, in order to make sure that one never comes to develop water intoxication, one only has to try and drink as much as they need to quench their thirst.
