We have just managed to get our hands on some impressive high-definition character renders from the upcoming PS3 and Xbox 360 fighting game, Virtua Fighter 5. If you live in Japan you might know the game if you visited your local arcade hall. It has been released throughout Japanese arcade halls in July of last year.

The PlayStation 3 version of the game is still due for February 20 of 2007, and it will be a launch title for the European PS3 release in March. You will have to wait some more for the Xbox 360 version, as SEGA has confirmed that it will come out in the summer of 2007. SEGA has something more in store for you meaning that they are going to release a special arcade-like device for you to enjoy VF5 to the fullest. After the release of Virtua Fighter 5, SEGA will release a joystick especially designed for the Sony next-gen, called Virtua Stick High Grade, which will retail for 7329 yen, meaning US$ 63. It will feature arcade-like lever and buttons and will connect to the PS3 via USB Cable. The release date for this PS3 thingy is set for February 15.

Just recently, some rumors surfaced about this game's high definition support. The Japanese version of the game came out and on the back cover, it was written "true HD" support. True HD means support for 1080p resolution, and this would not be impossible at all, considering that another game from SEGA, Virtua Tennis, has 1080 support.

But enough with the VF5 rumors, you can watch some nice high-def characters renders if you click on the images below. You can take a look at Akira, Aoi, Blaze, Brad, Eileen, Goh, Jacky, Jeffry, Kage, Lau, Leifei, Lion, Pai, Shun and of course Sarah.
