A mosquito's snout is surprisingly flexible, bends to find a blood vessel

First off, fair warning: the video above is way more shocking than all the horror movies that have been made over the years. At least from my standpoint.

The footage shows what happens when a mosquito bites. Unlike other videos, it documents the insect's vicious attack on its unsuspecting victim from inside the latter's body.

Yup. We get to watch a mosquito snout bending and flexing inside a mouse's body. Eventually, the insect finds a blood vessel and starts feasting.

To be completely honest, I'm not a big fan of mosquitoes. Now that I've seen this footage, I dare say I like them even less.

According to Live Science, this video was shot with the help of a microscope. The mouse the mosquito was allowed to feed on had been anesthetized before the experiment debuted.
