Ernie Ward explains why leaving a dog alone in a hot car is a really bad idea

Animal welfare activists keep telling people that they must never abandon their pets inside a locked car during warm weather, but some just won't listen.

Dr. Ernie Ward wished to show that these activists really were on to something, so he made this video showing how dogs felt when abandoned by their owners in hot cars.

The veterinarian proves that, even if the car's windows are cracked open, temperatures inside the vehicle go up to life-threatening levels in a matter of minutes.

While humans have a relatively easy time coping with intense heat, all thanks to their sweat glands, dogs and other animals are virtually helpless when confronted with such situations.

“Not to mention the fact that they tend to get anxious because they have no idea when their owners will return to the car”, Dr. Ernie Ward further explains.

The video is eye-opening, and something tells me animal lovers will want to share it with friends, family and pet owners.
