These creatures must surely be the Chuck Norrises of the animal kingdom

People sometimes get terribly upset when the air conditioning or the central heating isn't working as well as it should.

One can only imagine the kind of tantrum these folks would throw were they to find themselves forced to spend a mere three seconds in the extreme environments that some animals have no trouble thriving in.

The video above made it only this past March 6, and the nature enthusiasts at Earth Unplugged are the ones whom we should thank for it.

The video documents 10 different animals which have evolved to live in conditions many other creatures would label as utterly dreadful and appalling.

As surprising as this may sound, it turns out the most heat-tolerant creatures on Earth are representatives of a species of worms that lives in hydrothermal vents way below the sea's surface.

Still, these worms are not nearly as tough as a creature dubbed the tardigrade, which is a microscopic organism that can survive temperatures either nearing absolute zero or over the boiling point.

In fact, the tardigrade is so tough that rumor has it even Chuck Norris is terrified of what could happen should he upset it.

Check out the video to learn what other animals and critters have evolved to survive in extreme conditions, and share your thoughts in the comments section below.
