You might not know it yet, but tomorrow is a very special day. Not to beat about the bush, this coming December 1 is the day keepers at the Smithsonian's National Zoo will finally announce the name of the baby panda born at this facility earlier this year, on August 23.

To make it easier to pass the time until this major announcement, here is a time-lapse video showing the panda cub growing up and getting cuter by the day.

Most of the footage comes from a live cam installed in the panda family's enclosure, but footage from when the cub got its first health check is also included.

As previously reported, the panda cub is a female and was born to mother Mei Xiang. The female giant panda had to be artificially inseminated.

At that time, vets used male gametes from two different males, i.e. Tian Tiand and Gao Gao. By the looks of it, they have yet to figure out which of them is the cub's father.
