People who like hiking and those living in remote parts of the world are huge fans of portable light sources.

From my standpoint, it is precisely these two categories of people that will very much enjoy the news that they might one day be able to purchase a so-called thermoelectric flashlight.

As described in the video above, this innovative flashlight uses the heat generated by a person's hand to produce light.

What's even more surprising is the fact that the flashlight was designed and manufactured by a 15-year-old girl from Canada.

According to Tree Hugger, the girl chose to name her invention the Hollow Flashlight.

Unlike flashlights that rely on solar power, this one has the advantage that it can be used both during night-time and whenever the weather is not as sunny as green-energy enthusiasts would like it to be.
