The crustaceans take over a beach in St. John by the millions

Coupled with a pretty amazing soundtrack, this video shows how, only a while back, millions of hermit crabs pretty much took over a beach in St. John.

Apparently, Steve Simonsen (i.e. the person responsible for releasing these images to the general public), only found out that this amazing migration was taking place while he was busy enjoying his day after one of his friends called him and asked him to come by as soon as possible.

Of course, Steve had to make sure he brought his camera with him; otherwise his presence there would have been futile.

Just for the record, hermit crabs migrate in such large numbers on a yearly basis, and the event mostly takes place in August.

Truth be told, we are also fairly thankful to Steve's friend for calling him in, seeing how otherwise we would not have been able to enjoy this stunning footage.
