If you have about three minutes to spare, I suggest that you spend them watching this gorgeous short film by natural history filmmaker Howard Hall.

Not much happens in it – the footage only shows a pod of whales swimming around and being annoyingly graceful and absolutely stunning – but I guarantee the video is worth it. Especially if you watch it in full screen mode.

The Howard Hall creation is titled “Leviathan.” According to Tree Hugger, the footage was shot in the southern Pacific Ocean, and the filmmaker himself got up close and personal with the marine mammals.

“This video was captured in Tonga with the help of Whale Watch Vava'u and Endangered Encounters, two excellent whale watch operations in Vava'u Tonga,” Howard Hall details in the video's description.

I don't know about you, but I for one have to admit that I liked the part when a whale mom hugged its offspring best. Which scene is your favorite? Let me know in the comments section below.
