You know those fluffy pillows stuffed with down that promise you a heavenly night's rest? You might not want to have anything to do with them ever again after watching this video.

The footage was posted online by PETA, whose members and supporters are confident that, once people catch a glimpse of the horrors of the down industry, they will quit buying pillows, clothing and comforters made from geese feathers.

The organization says that the video is the result of an undercover investigation at a farm where geese are raised in horrible conditions and then plucked alive.

“Undercover video footage shows employees on goose farms pulling fistfuls of feathers out of live birds, often causing bloody wounds as the animals shriek in terror.”

“The frightened animals are often squeezed upside down between workers' knees during the painful procedure – in one instance, an investigator photographed a worker who was sitting on a goose's neck in order to prevent her from escaping,” PETA explains.

The organization asks that people who see this video make sure the clothing and bedding they buy from now on is made entirely from cruelty-free materials, and also encourage their friends and family to do the same.

Viewer discretion is recommended when watching the video above as some might find its content disturbing.
