Some Disney princesses might have about a dozen animal friends (maybe even more), but we ordinary folks aren't as lucky. Hence the fact that we pretty much melt whenever coming close to one wild creature or another.

The footage below, which made it online just yesterday, is one of those amazing videos documenting a one-in-a-lifetime type of encounter between man and wildlife.

It was shot in the North Sea, in the waters off the coast of England, not too long ago, and it shows a seal making friends with a surfer and even catching a ride on his board.

Truth be told, this young seal is not exactly what some would call a gifted surfer. Still, the animal seems ready and willing to give this sport a try, so maybe we shouldn't go around making fun of it and discouraging it.

“Me and my friend Andrew were out enjoying some summer waves when this little guy came along and scared the hell out of Andy because we didn’t know what it was! It nudged his foot from underneath,” the surfer, named Matt, explains.

Apparently, Mat and Andrew spent about an hour playing with the seal. When they finally left the water, the young creature tried to follow them all the way to a nearby beach. However, the surfers convinced it to remain in the water.
