The baby apes act as though they have no worries in the world

While traveling to Rwanda to discuss conservation issues, a wildlife researcher working with the San Diego Zoo came fairly close to a pair of twin baby gorillas and their mother.

The researcher spotted the apes in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, and caught them on camera just as they were relaxing and playing.

Check out the video above to see them jumping and running about the forest. From where I stand, the baby apes look and act as if they had no worries in the world.

HuffPost reports that, according to rangers in charge of looking after them, these three gorillas belong to a group locally known as Hirwa. Nine other gorilla families are known to live in this part of Rwanda.

Presently, mountain gorillas are considered to be a critically endangered species. Habitat destruction and the expansion of human communities are the two major threats to these apes' long-term survival.
