Some time ago, folks working with the Humane Society of the United States carried out a raid at a suspected puppy mill in North Carolina.

The animals they found at this facility were all in really poor shape. Still, animal lover Jennifer Kulina-Lanese says that Ricky Bobby was the worst looking of the bunch.

“When I laid eyes on Ricky Bobby, the sweetest little dappled dachshund eaten away by paralysis and covered in his own filth, it just broke my heart.”

“He had a huge callus on his belly from dragging himself around. He had urine scalding on his legs, and his little feet had sores on them. His back legs had no muscle left – he was just all bones,” she recollects.

Thanks to veterinarian Megan Bliss, Ricky Bobby managed to get back on its paws, and is now enjoying life. What's more, the pooch has been adopted, and is now getting all the TLC anyone could ever wish for.

With the help of a custom-made set of wheels, Ricky Bobby can even run and play. Check out the video above to see just how full of life the dog now is, and make sure you have a box of tissues nearby before you hit “play.”
