About a month ago, Taiwan's Taipei City Zoo welcomed a female panda cub named Yaun Zai. The baby panda was separated from her mother at birth, and is presently being kept in a nursery.

Still, zoo staff have recently decided that it might not be such a bad idea to allow the two to spend some time together.

Check out the video above to see how the meeting between the baby panda and her mother went.

By the looks of it, both were quite thrilled to finally come face to face. Thus, the baby panda did not take long to reach out and try to touch her mother with her paws.

The female panda, on the other hand, appeared delighted to be able to lick her offspring's nose.

Keepers say that, although Yuan Zai is growing stronger every day, visitors to the zoo will probably have to wait for another three months before they can catch a glimpse of the baby panda, sources report.
