Yesterday Panasonic pushed out the Lumix FZ1000 camera, which is being marketed as the world’s first digital compact camera with 4K.

The device looks like a combination of DLSR and compact camera with long zoom lens and comes with the pretty appealing price tag of $899.99 / €664.

The camera comes with a 20MP “high sensitivity” MOS sensor that works in concert with 16x f2.8-4.0 25-400mm lens bearing Leica’s unmistakable branding.

Now Panasonic has posted a bunch of videos showing the capabilities of the new Lumix FZ1000, including the most hyped – 4K video shooting.

So take a look around at the short films posted below, to get an idea of what you’ll be able to do with the device.

But be advised that if you choose to shoot in 4K, you will be limited at 30fps. Shooting in 1080p will bring about improved speeds of 60fps, but that’s not the only benefit you’ll get from settling with a lower resolution.

You’ll also be able to take advantage of five-axis optical image stabilization, which is not available in 4K mode.

The Panasonic FZ-1000 is up for pre-order from Amazon, Adorama, BHphoto and in Europe from WexUK, if you want to go ahead and secure one of these babies.
