TV Gone Wrong campaign goes up a notch, highlights poor quality TV these days

If you’re a fan of the Real Housewives of… franchise, the Kardashians, Honey Boo Boo, or any other successful reality show you can think of, bad news from PBS: it’s still working to discourage you from tuning in.

Just recently, in New York, PBS unveiled a series of very successful faux billboards for (obviously fake) reality shows about to premiere.

They now got visual companions in the form of 3 trailers, which you can also see included in this blog post: “Clam Kings,” “Meet the Tanners” and “Long Island Landscapers.”

As you can see, each trailer cuts short right before the end, to warn you that if you thought it was real, you’re living proof of what’s wrong with television today.

“The fact that you thought this was a real show says a lot about the state of TV. Support quality programming,” a message says.

It also includes the hashtag #TVGONEWRONG, and offers more details on how you can donate, in case you wish to join the cause and support quality television.

While the initiative is admirable, the fact that many commenters are saying they would actually watch one of these 3 shows if they ever got made makes the whole campaign a moot point.
