It was only yesterday when I got the chance to write about how both forestlands and urban patches of greenery capture and store tremendous amounts of carbon.

Today, I came across a stunning video (made available below) pieced together by a group of people who are very much concerned about how mining affects Ontario's ancient Red Pine forest.

“Wolf Lake is surrounded by the largest ancient red pine forest in the world - an endangered ecosystem that remains in only 1.2% of its former extent,” these people reportedly point out.

“The government of Ontario promised protect the ancient forest, but 13 years later it is still open to destructive mining and mineral exploration,” they further add.

Those wishing to get involved and help save these endangered ecosystems need only visit SaveWolfLake.org.
