Earlier this month, I introduced you to a pair of lion cubs born at Maryland Zoo on October 3. Although they lost their mother shortly after birth, the baby lions managed to survive, and their caretakers say that they are growing stronger every day.

The video above shows them practicing their fighting skills. Since they are still too tiny to take on bulky opponents, the cubs must settle for staging fights with one another.

Zoo Borns tells us that, now that they are starting to grow a fairly impressive set of teeth, the cubs have been allowed to taste meat for the very first time in their lives.

They enjoyed the experience, and keepers say that it is only a matter of time until they start frowning in disgust at their bottles of formula and ask for a juicy steak instead.

The lion cubs presently live in an indoor enclosure, and it will be some time before they are allowed to go outside and make their public debut.
