While exploring the waters of the Antarctica, a group of nature enthusiasts had a rather peculiar encounter with a leopard seal which, for one reason or another, decided to approach them and hug their kayak.

“This guy (I have it on good authority that it was in fact a male) found us and started being quite inquisitive,” Paul Scriver wrote in the description for this video.

“He mostly swam around the kayaks and we would loose him when he was underwater, but then he started to become quite playful and did the exact thing shown in this video a few times before I calmed down enough to actually try to film him with my gopro,” he added.

The people who witnessed the seal's peculiar behavior believe that the animal was merely playing, and that it very much enjoyed hugging the kayak in this manner.

Unfortunately for the leopard seal, the kayak simply refused to get involved in the game and hug him back.
