Here's are a few super cool science experiments you can do at home and have loads of fun while you're at it

Luckily for us mere mortals who don't have state-of-the-art laboratory equipment at our disposal, there are a whole lot of science experiments that we can do at home with things we can get at the nearest grocery store.

The video below details a few such experiments, the absolute coolest of the bunch being the one involving a perfectly ordinary egg and a glass of good old vinegar.

Here's what this very simple experiment entails: simply submerge the egg in the vinegar and leave it there for about two to three days. When you pull it out and wash it, the egg should be a super awesome rubbery toy of sorts.

As explained in the video, the acid in the vinegar will interact with the calcium carbonate in the shell, essentially dissolving it. Meanwhile, the vinegar will also transform the inside of the egg.

Long story short, the egg will turn bouncy and squishy. Interestingly, these changes will not cause the egg to turn completely opaque. Instead, it will remain translucent. Pretty neat, right?

Mind you, the video doesn't say anything about whether or not the egg is still good to eat once it's all rubbery and squishy. Then again, it's safe to assume that it would be best not to serve it to anyone for breakfast.
