As people get older, they lose the ability to hear certain sounds

It's no news that perfect hearing and old age don't exactly go hand in hand. Thus, as we get older, we lose the ability to pick up certain frequencies.

The video above was posted online by the people at AsapSCIENCE and it is intended to help ordinary folks figure out how old their ears are.

As they explain, the video is basically a hearing age test.

Judging by the comments the video has received since it was posted, a few days ago, there are many out there whose hearing is about 2-3 times older than their biological age.

One can only assume this is because many people these days spend a tad too much time listening to really loud music, which sooner or later damages their inner ear.

Specialists explain that the inner ear does not regenerate, which is why we should start taking better care of it long before it shows signs of failing us.
