Brain surgeries can be quite tedious, especially if you're the patient and you find yourself with nothing else to do but sit on your back while doctors are busy trying to fit a pacemaker implant inside your skull.

So why not pass the time playing the guitar? As the video above shows, this was precisely what one guy did when undergoing brain surgery at UCLA Health.

Brad Carter, the man featured in this video, is an actor and a musician who has been suffering from tremors for several years now.

In order to treat his condition, specialists decided to implant a pacemaker in his brain and then carry out deep-brain stimulation operations.

Luckily for us, the surgery was live-tweeted, and we can now kill about 30 seconds by watching Brad Carter play an original tune while lying on the operating table.
