The giraffe kicks the camera, the latter somehow lives to tell the tale

Despite being very tall and having long legs, giraffes don't really think of themselves as models. Hence, getting them to sit for a photo shoot can prove quite tricky. Besides, this might even make them angry, as the GoPro camera featured in the video below learned the hard way.

The footage made it online just yesterday, when it was posted on YouTube by the folks at GoPro.

Since then, it has scored nearly 17,000 hits, so dare say it is safe to assume that there are a lot of people in this world who are interested in learning how giraffes react to being filmed without their approval.

According to the video's description, the GoPro camera that we need to thank for this belongs to a wildlife photographer by the name Chris Barnard.

It is unclear where exactly the camera had this very close encounter with the temperamental giraffe, but wildlife researchers tell us that this species can only be found in Africa, so I suppose this helps narrow down the search.

Funnily enough, the giraffe in this video kicks the camera with just enough force to position it at such an angle that, when the animal walks over it, we get to have a look at its belly.
