On Saturday, a female panda named Yuan Yuan gave birth to an adorable female cub.

The giant panda delivered her baby at a zoo in Taiwan, and the event was caught on camera. Check it out in the video above.

Zoo keepers say that it took Yuan Yuan about three years to conceive. Now that she finally has a daughter, she seems anything but willing to let her out of her sight.

The baby panda appears to be healthy and alert, yet she will be closely monitored throughout the next few days. This is because baby pandas are extremely vulnerable during their first week of life.

“Our next challenge is even tougher. We will make sure the panda baby is under intensive care, especially after the first week after birth we will be on duty 24 hours a day,” a zoo official reportedly told the press.
