Just yesterday, the news broke that a hound in a town in Spain delivered two puppies with green fur. Of the two puppies, just one is still alive.

The pooch, said to be a male, is shown in the video below. As one can easily notice, it is considerably smaller than its siblings, and quite weak.

Vets who have had the chance to examine the puppy cannot say for sure whether or not the pooch will survive and grow to be a trouble-causing bundle of joy.

Still, no harm ever came out of hoping, so let us hope the pooch will prove strong and determined enough to overcome these hardships and show the world that those who are off to a rough start can end up being winners.

As previously reported, it is still unclear why it was that these two hound puppies were born with green fur. Specialists suspect that their peculiar color is due to exposure to a compound found in placenta.

“Sometimes, when a puppy is born, the amniotic fluid mixes with the placenta and dyes the coat of the puppy and it almost always happens to very light colored puppies.”

“There are not health concerns - it's really just a discoloration in the birthing process,” Anna Zorrilla from Louisiana SPCA explains in a statement.
