These raptors caught their prey in mid-air, have incredible hunting skills

The Mayan ruins in Guatemala are home to quite a lot of bats, so it need not surprise us that predators who feed on these rather small animals saw fit to also set up camp nearby.

As the video above shows, bat falcons are quite gifted when it comes to locating, hunting down and killing their next meal, even if the latter is busy hiding or flying around.

Thus, this species of falcons can catch their prey in mid-air, most likely because of the fact that their wingspan more than exceeds their body size. Truth be told, they also have some very impressive reflexes.

From where we stand, this footage need be regarded as yet another proof of how amazing the animal species inhabiting the earth are.
