In case you haven't figured it out by now, I am here to tell you that elephants are pretty amazing creatures. What's more, not to be rude or anything, but I dare say that they could teach some people a thing or two about personal hygiene.

The video below made it online this past April 30 and has already scored over 17,000 hits. It was posted in YouTube on the GoPro channel and shows an elephant taking a bath in a river and totally enjoying the experience.

According to the video's description, the footage was shot at a rescue and rehabilitation center for elephants in Chiang Mai, the largest city in Northern Thailand. Apparently, the facility is known as the Elephant Nature Park.

I have no idea what the elephant featured in this video went through when it was younger, or how and why it ended up at this rescue and rehabilitation center in Thailand. However, I am glad that, no matter what it has been through, it seems to still be able to enjoy life.

As reported on several occasions, elephants are in danger of going extinct due to the fact that poachers are butchering many of them on a yearly basis in order to get their tusks and then sell the ivory on the black market.

Conservationists say that the key to saving this species is convincing people to no longer buy ivory and thus discourage poaching activities and illegal trading activities involving these animal body parts.
