Cooking breakfast can prove a rather tedious experience, especially if eggs are the only thing you know how to cook, be it fried, boiled or turned into a delicious omelette with bacon and a whole lot of cheese on top.

On the bright side, it looks like there is one very simple way to have some fun while frying eggs. Long story short: try using mercury instead of oil. You'll still be hungry when you're done as you won't be able to eat your sunny side ups, but at least you'll be entertained.

The video below, now gaining quite a lot of popularity online, shows a daredevil using mercury to cook a fried egg. He simply heats up a pan, pours the mercury inside it and then adds the egg. Because mercury makes a great thermal conductor, the eggs is done in less than a minute.

Using mercury too cook eggs might sound like a whole lot of fun, but joking aside, it must be said that this trick is one you should never ever try to recreate at home, no matter how bored you might be. Not unless you want to get poisoned and end up in the hospital.

Thus, it is important to keep in mind that mercury is highly toxic. In fact, the guy behind this experiment says that, when using it to cook a fried egg, he wore gloves and even a respirator to avoid breathing in hazardous fumes.
