It is a widely accepted fact that dolphins are some of the brainiest animals presently inhabiting our oceans. Still, no harm can come out of being reminded of this every once in a while.

This video was shot in Hawaiian waters earlier this month, and shows how a dolphin that had somehow become tangled in a fishing line decided to ask for help from a group of divers.

As one can easily notice, the bottlenose dolphin did try to free itself several times (hence the scars on its body), yet did not succeed in doing so.

However, it was quite confident that the divers could help him, and patiently waited for one of them to remove the hook that was lodged in one of its fins.

Needless to say, it is quite likely that, by freeing it, these divers saved the dolphin's life.

“I was at the right place at the right time. I am honored to share the footage with all of you. Let's make better decisions for the ocean and the creatures that inhabit it. I strive to make a difference, and you can make one, too!” said Martina S. Wing, the person who shot this video.
