Watch Dogs, the open world title created and published by Ubisoft, has managed to keep the number one position in the United Kingdom chart for the past week and seems poised to stay in the lead for the coming summer weeks, which tend to be devoid of big launches.

The action and shooter experience has had a troubled launch on the PC, where there are still some gamers unable to actually play it, but has enjoyed solid sales on both the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Ubisoft says that this is one of the best performing franchises it has at the moment and that it is already exploring expansion and sequel possibilities.

According to data from UKIE, second place for the week that ended on June 14 belongs to 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the football simulation title from EA Sports, which has benefited from the fact that the real-world tournament has kicked off.

The game is designed to give players a chance to win the trophy using their favorite team and the game engine has been used by the company to predict that on July 13, Germany will be the team to win the competition.

The last place on the podium belongs to Wolfenstein: The New Order, developed by Machine Games and published by Bethesda, which has managed to climb up one position when compared to the previously tracked period.

Mario Kart 8, the most recent major release from Nintendo for the Wii U, has dropped two places in order to reach four in the United Kingdom, but it continues to push up sales of the home console.

The classic FIFA 14 package from EA Sports is in fifth place, probably kept in the solid position by the addition of the free World Cup update for both the Kick-Off and the Ultimate Team game modes.

Titanfall, the shooter from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts, is in sixth place for the current week, which is a jump of three places over the previously tracked period, and it is followed by the PlayStation 3 version of indie hit Minecraft.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, the first-person shooter from Infinity Ward and Activision, is in eighth place, and last week’s third place, Murdered: Soul Suspect from Square Enix, is in ninth.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft.
