News from New Zealand says that, this past weekend, at least four orcas showed up in the waters off Wellington looking to gulp down as many stingrays as they could find.

A local diver was lucky enough to have two such marine mammals swim right by him. What's more, he had a camera with him at that time, and was courteous enough to share footage of this encounter with us.

Orcas are curious by nature, so it should not come as such a big surprise that at least one of the killer whales the diver managed to film seems interested in figuring out what the deal with the two-legged creature in front of it is.

One can only assume that the whale settled for taking one good look at the diver and then swam away because it was much more interested in sinking its teeth in some stingrays than it was in solving this mystery.

The Dominion Post says that, according to the Department of Conservation in Wellington, orcas often shown up in these waters in order to feed. Apparently, they visit the area about five times per year.
