14 DAY TRIAL // Developer Nippon Ichi Software has released the animated opening for the upcoming Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance.
The intro features the theme song "Kill Real," performed by Mamoru Miyano, the voice actor doing Killia in Japan.
The game is centered upon the idea of vengeance, following emperor Void Dark coming to power and smashing many worlds around the universe, because evil people tend to do that.
The game even has a specific mechanic inspired by revenge, activated every time one of your party members falls in battle.
You are part of a strike force assembled by the Overlords of the Netherworlds, meant to inflict retribution upon Void Dark and his formidable army, known as The Lost.
The main story will follow protagonists Killia, a powerful demon, Seraphine, the princess daughter of the demon king of the Gorgeous Underworld, Usaria, the demon king of the Rabbit Rabbit World, Christo and Zeroken.
A lot of new stuff for Disgaea fans
The game offers plenty of different opportunities for players to show their skill, with over 40 races and jobs to choose from, as well as some additions to the combat system, enabling characters with similar alignments to perform Alliance Attacks.
Disgaea 5 will introduce a number of new systems, among which daring Squad Kills, where every member of your squad can attack an enemy squad in its entirety, damaging everyone at once, or using Magichange twice on monsters, and forging even more powerful weapons than before.
Players will be able to travel across different Netherworlds, attempting to persuade the Overlords and heirs of each of them to join forces against the army of Void Dark.
Furthermore, the number of characters displayed on screen at any one time has been increased to 100, so expect to see a lot of massive battles in this one.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is currently scheduled to come out on March 25 in Japan, and sometime this fall in North America and Europe. The tactical role-playing game will be available exclusively on Sony's PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, in both physical and digital form.
