14 DAY TRIAL // Recently, a sperm whale beached in the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic and passed away shortly after.
The animal soon started to decompose, and its stomach became filled with various gases. Judging by the size of its belly at the beginning of the video below, there were quite a lot of gases rumbling inside it.
For some reason, a man decided to try and open its stomach. Presently, it is still unclear why the man thought that cutting through a seriously bloated dead sperm whale with a spear was the right thing to do.
As shown in the video, the whale explodes almost immediately after it gets poked with the spear. Its guts go flying through the air, and the man is left with no choice except run to safety.
According to the New Zealand Herald, about 950 whales are killed by people in the Faroe Islands each year, during non-commercial hunts. The whales are slaughtered for their meat and blubber.
