The man's face comes dangerously close to the shark's jaws

While it is very much true that sharks deserve some more consideration on our behalf, this does not mean we should go around hugging them.

Doing our best to keep them from getting caught in fishing nets and ending the shark fin trade is more than enough, conservationists would say.

The video above was shot in the waters off the island of Bora Bora in the Pacific Ocean, Daily Mail tells us. It shows one very brave (too brave for his own good, some would say) diver swimming to a lemon shark and wrapping his arms around its body.

At some point, the diver's face comes dangerously close to the animal's jaws.

Luckily, the latter appears to be in a very good mood, and not in the least opposed to the idea of being hugged by a complete stranger who didn't even bother to take it out for dinner and a movie first.

Though the lemon shark was not harmed by the diver, I still think wild animals are best left in peace and admired from afar. I for one know I would not appreciate it if someone were to violate my personal space in this manner.
