A short clip from the biopic detailing Jimmy Hendrix's life called “All Is By My Side” has just appeared online and it gives a first look at the portrayal that OutKast's Andre Benjamin, aka Andre 3000, gave Hendrix.

The particular scene made available is not of Hendrix jamming on stage or performing some other outrageous act. The producers decided to focus on his softer side so they presented a scene in which Hendrix, played by Andre, talks to Imogen Poots, played by Linda Keith.

In it, the two are flirting and Hendrix eventually invites Poots to Monterey before confessing his love for her. The description of the film claims that the script will focus on just one year of Jimmy's life, the year that he spent in London, trying to become a successful musician.

The film is directed by John Ridley, the man who just won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay from “12 Years a Slave,” which will also mark his debut as a director. “All Is By my Side” did not receive support from the Hendrix estate, which is why you won't hear any of his music in the film.

Warmly received at the Toronto Film Festival, the film is set to be displayed next month at the SXSW Festival.
